About the Artist

When I create a new piece of pottery, I am inspired by the art of entertaining. Each piece is designed to complement the beauty of a table scape set for an elegant dinner party, an informal gathering of friends or simply to enjoy while dining alone. I always aim to create pieces that invoke conversations and enhance appreciation of the beauty found in the little things in life.

As a young adult, I attended estate sales every Saturday with my grandmother, collecting unique "treasures" used for entertaining. Throughout the last 30 years, I have created functional ceramic pieces made to accompany my collected "treasures". Each piece I create is filled with memories of my grandmother and the beauty of those pieces we discovered together.

As I create new work, my goal is to design pieces that can elevate your table and become one of your collected "treasures".

My love of ceramics started in high school where I was exposed to wheel throwing for the first time. I continued to develop that love in college at both Newcomb College of Tulane University and Loyola University of New Orleans. I developed advanced wheel throwing and hand building techniques, while also exploring glaze/clay formulation and different firing methods. While pursuing my graduate degree in social work, I continued to attend workshops and lessons by local ceramic artists. As my work continued to develop, I took great inspiration from other ceramic artists in New Orleans and throughout the South.

In 2021, we moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where I joined a thriving artist community-specifically one heavily focused in the ceramic arts. Over the past two years, I have continued to refine my point of view, while developing new forms and exploring more advanced and unique glaze and firing techniques.

Today, I work in a private studio space in the Warehouse Arts District in St. Petersburg, continuing to create unique pieces designed to contribute to the art of entertaining. Cheers!
